16-Minute Full-Body Coordination Tai Chi Practice
16-Minute Full-Body Coordination Tai Chi Practice
Move together. Step with confidence.
A Tai Chi practice designed to improve the way your hands, feet, waist, legs, and whole body work together.
Created by Master Qingyuan, this 16-minute routine progresses from joint mobility and stretching into Tai Chi walking, weight shifting, waist rotation, stepping, turning, and coordinated traditional forms.
The central goal of this course is not simply flexibility or strength.
It is to help you learn how the body moves as one connected unit—so the hands, feet, waist, and changes in your center of gravity work together rather than moving separately.
This Course Helps You:
- Improve coordination between the hands, feet, waist, and legs
- Develop smoother and more controlled weight shifting
- Improve balance during stepping, turning, and changing direction
- Strengthen the legs and waist to create a more stable base
- Improve coordination during walking
- Develop better timing between footwork and upper-body movement
- Improve whole-body rhythm, movement awareness, and control
- Build greater confidence in everyday stepping and turning movements
The Course Includes:
A complete full-body coordination Tai Chi learning program, including:
- 16-minute Practice Demo — follow the complete sequence from joint preparation and stretching into Tai Chi walking, weight shifting, turning, and coordinated traditional forms
- 10 Movement Breakdown Lessons — detailed step-by-step instruction focused on footwork, weight transfer, hand-foot coordination, waist rotation, balance, and whole-body movement
The 10 movements include:
Wrist and Ankle Mobility, Shoulder Stretch, Leg Stretch Press, Azure Dragon Swings Its Tail, Commencing Form, Tai Chi Walking, Cloud Hands, Grasp Sparrow's Tail, Jade Girl Works at Shuttles, and Closing Form.
The course progresses from simple preparation movements into increasingly coordinated Tai Chi patterns.
The Practice Flow:
The course begins with Wrist and Ankle Mobility, preparing the joints that play an important role in stepping and balance.
Shoulder Stretch helps loosen the upper body, while Leg Stretch Press prepares the hips and legs for weight shifting and footwork.
The practice then transitions into traditional Tai Chi movement.
Azure Dragon Swings Its Tail introduces waist-led movement and coordination between the upper and lower body.
The Commencing Form establishes posture, balance, and a centered starting position.
Tai Chi Walking then becomes one of the key foundations of the course.
Here, you learn to control your center of gravity, distinguish between the weighted and unweighted leg, and move from one step to the next with greater awareness.
Cloud Hands adds continuous side-to-side weight transfer while coordinating the hands with waist rotation.
Grasp Sparrow's Tail develops more complex whole-body coordination through Ward Off, Roll Back, Press, and Push, teaching the hands, waist, legs, and weight shifts to work together.
Jade Girl Works at Shuttles adds turning, directional changes, stepping, and hand-foot coordination.
The practice finishes with the Closing Form, bringing the body back to a stable and centered position.
Regular Practice May Help:
- Improve coordination during walking and turning
- Develop smoother transitions from one step to the next
- Strengthen the legs and improve lower-body control
- Support balance when shifting weight or changing direction
- Improve coordination between the upper and lower body
- Improve awareness of where your center of gravity is during movement
- Build greater confidence in everyday movements such as stepping, turning, and changing direction
- Develop more fluid and connected Tai Chi movement
